On October 4, 2025, in Dijon, France—a city steeped in history and the aroma of Burgundy wine—a peace-themed international art exhibition opened at La Coupole inside Dijon Town Hall. More than just an art event, it is a cultural initiative embodying the spirit of global citizenship, officially included as part of SICOGA 2025, the Servas International Conference and General Assembly.

From October 4 to 8, sixty artists from twenty countries across five continents—including twenty from the Burgundy region—present paintings, sculptures, photographs, and mixed-media works exploring “Peace: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” Each piece conveys a belief: peace begins when people are willing to meet, listen, and understand one another.

The Light from Taiwan — Adia Yang’s Triple Poetic Vision

Among the many exhibitors, Adia Yang, a contemporary artist from Taiwan, shines through with three acrylic paintings rife with philosophical depth and spiritual resonance. She graduated from the Department of Crafts and Design at the National Taiwan University of Arts, formerly ran as a Taipei City Council candidate, and currently serves as a specially appointed art lecturer for the Taipei City Government and founder of the Southern France Artists’ Manor. She is a long-time advocate for the rights of people with disabilities and social inclusion.

Her three exhibited works are:
1️⃣ 《L’inclusivité prévient la fracture sociale》(包容防止破碎)
A series of twelve 10×10 cm acrylic pieces that express inclusivity as the foundation of peace. The work symbolizes the interconnection of diverse communities, reminding us that only in a society where everyone feels seen and understood can peace prevail.

Inspired by Taoist Tai Chi philosophy, its flowing brushstrokes mirror the rhythm of breath and meditation, guiding viewers toward inner calm and balance.

3️⃣ 《Love makes the world go round》(愛讓世界運轉)
Dominated by vibrant reds—symbols of vitality and joy in Asian culture—the piece affirms love as the core force that binds humanity, resonating with the exhibition’s theme.

As Adia Yang once said, “Art is a pact of the soul; when you gaze upon a work, you converse with yourself.” Her sentiment echoes Servas’ core conviction: peace begins with understanding.

Rida Yu

Connector & Advocate — Rida Yu

Behind this exhibition stands a pivotal catalyst for international art exchange — Rida Yu (余慕薌). A board member of Servas Taiwan, Rida represented Servas International at the CSW69 Conference in New York in March 2025, where 20 delegates attended on behalf of the organization. After encountering Adia Yang’s solo exhibition at Taipei’s Datong District Office, she was deeply moved by the artist’s vision and proposed bringing her works to France — a gesture that made this cross-cultural dialogue possible.

From a single journey to a global exhibition, Servas reminds the world that:
“Peace is not an ideal — it is a way of life we can practice every day.”
