葡萄牙海軍首艘無人機母艦「若昂二世號」（A5209）7日於羅馬尼亞加拉提造船廠正式下水，該艦由Damen Shipyards Group承造，未來將搭載多型無人載具與直升機執行任務，顯著提升葡萄牙遠洋投射與海上行動能力。

Portugal’s first drone carrier, NRP Dom João II (A5209), was launched on the 7th at a shipyard in Galați, Romania. Built by Damen Shipyards Group, the vessel will deploy various unmanned systems and helicopters, significantly enhancing Portugal’s maritime power projection capabilities.

歐盟資金支持　荷蘭設計打造多用途平台

EU Funding Supports Dutch-Designed Multi-Mission Platform

根據軍聞網站Naval News報導，該艦源自葡萄牙海軍多用途艦艇（MPV）計畫，並由歐盟「復甦及韌性基金」（RRF）提供資金支持。葡國於2023年選定達門「MPV 10720」設計方案，並於2024年正式開工建造。

According to Naval News, the vessel is part of Portugal’s Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) program, funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). The MPV 10720 design by Damen was selected in 2023, with construction beginning in 2024.

該設計強調全通飛行甲板與高酬載彈性，可執行傳統軍事任務與非傳統安全任務，展現多用途作戰能力。

The design emphasizes a full-length flight deck and flexible payload capacity, enabling both traditional military and non-traditional security missions.

支援多型無人載具　打造模組化海上平台

Supports UAVs, USVs, and UUVs in Modular Configuration

「若昂二世號」全長107.6公尺、寬20公尺，標準排水量約7000噸，並採用高度自動化系統，使船員編制僅需48人。該艦可搭載直升機，執行巡邏、運輸、海洋研究與人道救援等任務。

The Dom João II measures 107.6 meters in length and 20 meters in beam, with a displacement of around 7,000 tons. Advanced automation reduces crew requirements to just 48 personnel. The vessel can support helicopters for patrol, transport, research, and humanitarian missions.

此外，該艦亦可運用垂直起降無人機（VTOL UAV）、無人水面載具（USV）與水下無人載具（UUV）進行協同作戰，或利用約650平方公尺甲板空間，搭載18個標準貨櫃與各式模組化設備，提升任務彈性。

It can also deploy VTOL UAVs, unmanned surface vessels (USVs), and unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), or carry up to 18 standard ISO containers on its 650-square-meter deck, enabling modular mission configurations and enhanced flexibility.

命名致敬航海王　延續探索精神

Named After Historic King to Honor Exploration Legacy

該艦以John II of Portugal（若昂二世）命名，他在15世紀大力支持航海探險，包括資助航海家Bartolomeu Dias繞過好望角，開啟通往印度的航線。

The vessel is named after King John II of Portugal, who supported maritime exploration in the 15th century, including Bartolomeu Dias’ voyage around the Cape of Good Hope, opening sea routes to India.

強化北約海上戰力　投入大西洋與專屬經濟區

Enhancing NATO Maritime Security in the Atlantic

未來，「若昂二世號」將與葡萄牙海軍巡防艦協同部署，在大西洋與葡萄牙專屬經濟區執行任務，並支援北約盟國提升海上安全與監控能力。

In the future, the Dom João II will operate alongside Portuguese frigates in the Atlantic and within Portugal’s exclusive economic zone, contributing to NATO maritime security and surveillance operations.
