Airbus:A321XLR 與 A220 將重塑拉丁美洲航空版圖

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus believes its newest generation of narrowbody aircraft could reshape the aviation landscape across Latin America, opening new long-haul links while strengthening regional connectivity.
在巴西舉行的 Routes Americas 2026 會議上,Airbus 拉丁美洲與加勒比海銷售主管 Laurent Bayer 表示,Airbus A321XLR 與 Airbus A220 機型特別適合該地區正在演變的航空市場需求。
Speaking at Routes Americas 2026 in Brazil, Laurent Bayer, Airbus Vice President and Head of Sales for Latin America and the Caribbean, said the A321XLR and A220 families are ideally suited to the region’s evolving market.
這兩款機型具備 更長航程、更低營運成本以及更適中的載客容量,使航空公司能開闢過去因需求不足或成本過高而無法營運的航線,例如巴西二線城市直飛歐洲樞紐機場。
With their combination of extended range, lower operating costs and right-sized capacity, the aircraft allow airlines to launch routes that were previously considered too thin or uneconomical, including direct flights linking secondary Brazilian cities with major European hubs.
A321XLR 打開巴西二線城市直飛歐洲市場
A321XLR 的設計目標是讓需求較小的長程航線也具備商業可行性,使航空公司能營運過去無法支撐寬體客機的航線。
The A321XLR is designed to make thinner long-haul routes commercially viable, enabling airlines to serve destinations that previously could not sustain widebody aircraft.

Bayer noted that the aircraft could operate routes such as Santiago–Miami, Buenos Aires–Miami, Lima–New York, and flights from Brazil’s west coast and northeast to most Western European capitals.

“We see several opportunities there, particularly on routes between Brazil and Europe,” Bayer said.

European airlines are already demonstrating how the aircraft can open thinner long-haul routes between Europe and Brazil.

Spanish flag carrier Iberia launched A321XLR services from Madrid to Recife in December 2025 and Fortaleza in January 2026.

Both routes initially operate three times weekly, increasing to five and four weekly flights respectively from February 2026.

Latin American airlines are also planning to deploy the aircraft.
南美最大航空公司 LATAM Airlines Group 已訂購 13 架 A321XLR,並表示可能將其投入南美至歐洲航線。首批飛機預計 2027 年交付。
LATAM Airlines Group has ordered 13 A321XLR aircraft, with the first deliveries expected in 2027.
智利超低成本航空 SKY Airline 亦於 2019 年訂購 10 架 A321XLR,希望以此拓展國際航線網絡,但因產線延誤尚未接收首架飛機。
Chilean ultra-low-cost carrier SKY Airline also ordered 10 A321XLR aircraft in 2019, though deliveries have been delayed.
A220 強化美洲區域航線
除了長程航線,Airbus 也認為 A220 在區域航線市場具有重要角色,並可與 Embraer 的支線客機形成競爭。
Beyond long-haul routes, Airbus believes the A220 will play a key role in regional connectivity and compete with Embraer’s regional jets.
Bayer 指出,A220 特別適合連接中美洲城市與美國二線城市。
“The A220 can efficiently connect cities in Central America with secondary cities in the United States,” Bayer said.
目前拉丁美洲航空公司仍將大量運力配置於北美航線。
Currently, much of the region’s airline capacity is deployed between Latin America and North America.
Bayer 預期,未來該市場將出現更多 A321XLR 與 A220。
“We expect more A321XLRs as well as A220s in this market,” he said.
拉丁美洲航空市場長期成長可期
Airbus 預測,拉丁美洲未來 20 年 GDP 年均成長率約 2.8%,略高於全球平均。
Airbus forecasts that Latin America’s GDP will grow by around 2.8% annually over the next 20 years.
人口預計增加約 6,000 萬人,總人口將超過 7 億人,城市人口比例將達 86%。
The region’s population is expected to grow by about 60 million people to more than 700 million, with 86% living in urban areas.
同時,中產階級人口將增加約 1 億人,並占總人口 67%。
The middle class is projected to expand by around 100 million people, reaching roughly 67% of the population.
Bayer 表示,這些趨勢意味著未來航空客運需求將顯著成長。
“These trends mean traffic will continue to grow and could nearly double over the next 20 years,” Bayer said.
