At the 2025 Dubai Airshow, we captured video interviews and footage from three companies operating in very different segments of the aerospace and defense industry. Despite their distinct specialties, they share a single goal: to bring their core technologies and solutions onto the global stage. From smart unmanned combat systems to commercial satellites and solid-state batteries, these companies sketch a broad vision for the next generation of aerospace.

1. General Atomics — Global Benchmark in Intelligent Unmanned Combat Systems

At the exhibition, General Atomics showcased its mature UAVs and weapon integration capabilities:

  • Their booth featured UAV platforms equipped with precision-guided munitions modules and integrated ISR/strike payloads.

  • Company representatives spoke on-site about AI-driven autonomous flight control, mission management, and swarm coordination capabilities.

  • Given the fast-growing demand for unmanned tactical systems in the Middle East and global defense markets, GA’s comprehensive combat system demonstration reaffirmed its role as a key supplier in the global defense supply chain.

Commercial Satellite Innovation from China Aiming for Global Reach

According to the interviews and footage, Juntian Aerospace is a Chinese company focusing on the development and manufacturing of low-Earth-orbit (LEO) commercial satellites. Key takeaways from their presentation:

  • Founded in 2021, the company aims to drastically reduce satellite manufacturing and operation costs through “integrated design + modularization + standardization.”

  • Their exhibition content included satellite models, system modules, and associated ground-support solutions — demonstrating an end-to-end capability from design and manufacturing to operation.

  • They emphasized that by exhibiting at Dubai Airshow, they hope to attract potential customers and partners from the Middle East, Africa, and global markets, expanding their presence in the global commercial satellite sector.

3. Welion — Solid-State Battery Technology Paving the Way for Electric Aviation

The third company, Welion, introduced its solid-state battery solution at the show, presenting its potential for aerospace applications. Highlights include:

  • Their high-energy-density, thermally stable, and safety-optimized solid-state batteries — likely to become a core energy solution for future eVTOLs, UAVs and electric / hybrid aircraft.

  • The exhibition included not just battery cells, but module designs, system integration proposals, and technical briefings addressing high-temperature endurance, long-endurance flight, and stringent safety demands.

  • Welion declared ambitions to serve European, Middle East, Southeast Asia and global eVTOL / UAV customers — positioning themselves as a key supplier in the emerging electric-aviation supply chain.

Airshow Takeaway: From Unmanned Combat, to Space, to Energy — Aerospace Is Undergoing Multi-Dimensional Transformation

The presence and displays of these three companies show that the 2025 Dubai Airshow is no longer solely a venue for aircraft and fighter jets. Rather, it has evolved into a comprehensive technology exhibition covering broader value chains within aerospace:

  1. Intelligent, unmanned combat systems — UAV and weapon integration responding to rising global defense demand.

  2. Commercial space and satellite industry — commercial satellites entering global markets; new opportunities in satellite communications, earth observation and space applications.

  3. Aviation energy innovation — solid-state batteries and electric / hybrid propulsion systems paving the way for electric aviation.

Looking forward, the aerospace industry appears set to accelerate toward “unmanned, intelligent, electrified, and commercialized” directions — and these three companies are among the leading forces shaping that transformation.
