瑞士擬採購IRIS-T防空系統，強化中程防空能力

瑞士聯邦國防採購辦公室（Armasuisse）宣布，計劃向德國迪爾防衛公司（Diehl Defence）購買四至五套IRIS-T SLM中程防空系統，目前談判已進入後期階段，預計將於2025年第三季簽署合約。

此次採購是瑞士參與「歐洲天空之盾倡議」（European Sky Shield Initiative）的一部分，旨在加強國家防空能力。

瑞士國會已批准6.6億瑞士法郎（約8.09億美元）的中程防空預算。 

IRIS-T SLM系統由發射器、雷達和指揮單元組成，具備高精度攔截能力。

Switzerland Plans to Acquire IRIS-T Air Defense Systems to Enhance Medium-Range Defense

Switzerland’s Federal Office for Defence Procurement (Armasuisse) announced plans to purchase four to five IRIS-T SLM medium-range air defense systems from Germany’s Diehl Defence. Negotiations are in advanced stages, with a contract expected in the third quarter of 2025.

This acquisition is part of Switzerland’s participation in the European Sky Shield Initiative, aiming to strengthen national air defense capabilities.

The Swiss Parliament has approved a budget of 660 million Swiss francs (approximately $809 million) for medium-range air defense.

The IRIS-T SLM system comprises launchers, radar, and command units, offering high-precision interception capabilities.

1. Enhancing Medium-Range Defense: Switzerland’s acquisition of the IRIS-T SLM system aims to fill existing gaps in air defense capabilities, improving responses to medium-range aerial threats.
2. Participation in European Defense Cooperation: This purchase is part of Switzerland’s involvement in the European Sky Shield Initiative, highlighting its active role in European air defense collaboration.
3. Addressing Terrain Challenges: Switzerland has conducted relevant tests to ensure the IRIS-T system operates effectively in its mountainous terrain and is compatible with civilian systems.
