Boeing [NYSE: BA] today marked the groundbreaking of its Boeing South Carolina (BSC) site expansion in North Charleston, home of the 787 Dreamliner program.
The expansion will enable production to increase to 10 aircraft per month by 2026, supporting record global demand for the widebody jet.

💰 投資逾10億美元、創造千名新職位

波音於2024年底宣布此項擴建計畫，總投資超過 10億美元（USD 1 billion），預計在未來五年內 創造超過1,000個新職位。
工程內容包括：

• 與現有建築相當的新組裝廠房（約 120萬平方英尺）

The $1 billion investment will add a second 1.2 million-square-foot final assembly building, vertical fin paint facility, parts preparation area, flight line stalls, and expansions to the Interiors Responsibility Center.
The construction effort will involve 2,500 workers and 6.2 million labor hours, led by a joint venture between HITT Contracting and BE&K Building Group.
The project will create more than 1,000 new Boeing jobs over the next five years.

🌍 全球最暢銷寬體客機　787訂單突破2,250架

波音指出，全球共有 90家客戶 訂購超過 2,250架787夢幻客機，成為史上最暢銷的寬體民航機型。
截至目前已交付逾1,200架，尚有近1,000架待交付，其中今年新增訂單超過300架。
根據波音的《商用市場展望》（Commercial Market Outlook），未來20年全球將需要 7,800架以上新寬體客機。
With more than 2,250 total orders from 90 customers, the 787 Dreamliner is the best-selling widebody passenger jet of all time.
Over 1,200 airplanes have been delivered, and the backlog stands near 1,000 aircraft, including 300 orders added in 2025.
Boeing forecasts demand for over 7,800 new widebody airplanes over the next two decades.

自2009年波音在南卡設廠以來，該地已成為787全系列（787-8、787-9、787-10）的完整製造與交付基地，目前員工超過 8,200人，分布於 North Charleston 與 Orangeburg 兩園區。

Since establishing operations in 2009, Boeing South Carolina has been home to the complete 787 production cycle, employing over 8,200 teammates across two campuses.
