Northrop Grumman近日宣布,旗下新型無人戰機YFQ-48A已完成自主地面滑行測試(taxi test),並持續朝首次飛行測試邁進。該機未來可望參與美國空軍「協同戰鬥航空器系統」(Collaborative Combat Aircraft, CCA)「增量2」(Increment 2)計畫競爭。

According to defense outlet The Aviationist, footage released by Northrop Grumman showed the YFQ-48A autonomously taxiing along a runway while accompanied by a ground observation vehicle, demonstrating basic autonomous ground operations and control functions.

諾格表示,目前正與美國空軍密切合作推進測試作業,加速邁向首飛階段。相關消息指出,該機可能已於南加州Mojave Air and Space Port進行至少1個月以上的地面測試。

Northrop stated that it is working closely with the US Air Force to accelerate testing and advance toward first flight. Reports indicate the aircraft may have already conducted over a month of ground testing at Mojave Air and Space Port in Southern California.

從目前公開畫面可見,該機採用拉姆達(Lambda)翼型設計、機背進氣口以及外傾V型垂直尾翼,可能也具備內置式機腹彈艙,以提升低可偵測性與作戰彈性。

Based on released imagery, the aircraft features a lambda wing design, dorsal air intake, and outward-canted V-tail stabilizers. It may also incorporate an internal weapons bay to enhance low observability and operational flexibility.
