日本防衛大臣中谷元今日（8日）宣布，美軍即將在沖繩嘉手納空軍基地部署數架「MQ-4C海神」無人偵察機，以強化情報蒐集與區域監控能力。
Japan's Defense Minister, Gen Nakatani, announced today that the US will deploy several MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drones to Kadena Air Base in Okinawa to enhance intelligence and surveillance capabilities.
「我國周邊的安全環境正迅速惡化，」中谷強調，「這項部署將有助於提升我們對區域動態的掌握。」
"Our surrounding security environment is becoming increasingly severe," Nakatani stressed. "This deployment will help strengthen our situational awareness in the region."
值得注意的是，北京近年對台灣的軍事壓力明顯升溫，頻繁的演訓動作引發各界對其可能進一步行動的憂慮。
Notably, Beijing's growing military pressure on Taiwan—marked by frequent drills—has sparked concern among analysts about potential escalations.
根據防衛省消息，美軍預計在未來數週內完成無人機部署，進一步擴展美日安保同盟的偵察網絡。
According to Japan’s Ministry of Defense, the deployment is expected to be completed within weeks, extending the surveillance reach of the US-Japan security alliance.
目前美軍約有5萬4,000名部隊駐紮日本，其中多數集中在沖繩地區，這次的無人機增援將進一步強化當地軍事佈局。
With around 54,000 US troops stationed in Japan—most of them in Okinawa—the addition of the UAVs further bolsters the region’s defense infrastructure.
日本媒體報導，僅在過去一年內，日本自衛隊就已30次出動戰機，攔截疑似中國操控的無人機，顯示空中威脅有升高趨勢。
Japanese media revealed that in the past year alone, the Japan Self-Defense Forces scrambled jets 30 times to intercept suspected Chinese drones—an uptick compared to just 9 times in FY2023 and 4 in FY2021.
生產這款「MQ-4C海神」的美國諾斯洛普·格魯曼公司表示，該型無人機具備高空長航時能力，可連續飛行超過24小時，航程可達7,400海里（約13,700公里），特別適合海洋廣域偵察任務。
The MQ-4C Triton, developed by US-based Northrop Grumman, is a high-altitude, long-endurance UAV capable of flying for over 24 hours and covering up to 7,400 nautical miles—ideal for maritime surveillance missions.
除了美軍的部署外，日本自衛隊自身也正逐步建構無人機戰力，目前已具備部分高空偵察型號，並規劃引進中小型攻擊無人機，藉此加強國防自主性。
In addition to the US deployment, Japan’s Self-Defense Forces are actively enhancing their UAV capabilities, with plans to introduce smaller, combat-oriented drones to boost their autonomous defense options.
