他們的定位非常簡潔卻有力:「From the UK worldwide.」
Dubai Airshow Highlights: Aero, AVIC Youcai and Wisenergy Showcase Global Reach, Material Expertise and UAV Battery Innovation
At this year’s Dubai Airshow, we interviewed three companies from the UK and China—each representing a very different part of the aviation ecosystem. Yet all three share the same direction: stepping onto the global stage with technologies shaped by real-world demands.
1. Aero (UK) — From the UK, Toward the World
The first company we spoke with was Aero, based in the United Kingdom.
Their positioning can be summed up in one simple phrase:
“From the UK worldwide.”
Rather than focusing on a single product, Aero emphasizes its capability to deliver aviation components and services across multiple countries.
In an industry where “global delivery” is often as important as the technology itself, Aero stands out by highlighting its reliability within international supply chains.
2. AVIC Youcai — Materials as the Backbone of Braking Systems
The second company, AVIC Youcai, comes from China’s aviation industry.
Their primary work includes:
- Designing aircraft wheel braking components
- Manufacturing
- Maintenance and technical support
What stood out most in the interview was their deep focus on material preparation, which they describe as the true core of braking technology.
This includes:
- Carbon-carbon composite manufacturing
- Powder metallurgy materials
Although these terms may sound technical, they directly influence how safe, durable and reliable an aircraft’s braking system can be.
This year, AVIC Youcai also supplied braking systems for COMAC aircraft—a meaningful milestone for China’s expanding domestic aviation supply chain.
3. Wisenergy (Huizhou, China) — Three Battery Solutions for Three Extreme Scenarios
The third company, Wisenergy, brought a set of UAV battery solutions designed for drastically different operating environments.
Their lineup includes:
- Ultra-high-energy-density batteries for extended flight time
- 85°C high-temperature-resistant batteries tailored for the Middle East
- –55°C low-temperature batteries for high-altitude or cold-weather missions
Wisenergy originally conducted most business within China, but their end-users are often located in North America, Japan and South Korea.
Since 2023, the company has actively shifted toward overseas exhibitions, aiming to speak directly with international end customers and better understand real operational needs.
The 2025 Dubai Airshow highlighted three major shifts shaping the global aviation industry. First, Middle Eastern countries are rapidly investing in next-generation air defense systems, with UAVs, counter-UAV technologies, and long-range precision strike capabilities emerging as key focal points. Exhibits featuring AI-enabled autonomous flight control and swarm technologies increased noticeably. Second, the restructuring of the global aviation supply chain is accelerating, as manufacturers from Europe, the United States, and Asia emphasize advancements in material science, composite manufacturing, lightweight airframes, and high-efficiency propulsion to meet the dual demands of a recovering commercial aviation sector and expanding defense markets. Third, sustainable aviation became a shared global priority, with hydrogen propulsion, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), and electric and hybrid aircraft showcased at record scale, accompanied by multiple new multilateral “green aerospace” initiatives. Overall, this year’s airshow reflects a global aviation industry moving rapidly toward unmanned, intelligent, and low-carbon development.
