Walking the Old Streets, Listening to Dalin’s Stories
Every weekend, the alleys of Dalin come alive with the sounds of footsteps and conversations, as if stories were quietly unfolding around every corner. It’s in this atmosphere that the “Reviving Dalin: Guided Walks” project takes place—inviting visitors to rediscover the rich layers of this slow-paced town.
Jiang Ming-he, a Dalin native, has long been devoted to promoting local culture. To date, he has led more than a hundred walking tours. Each tour begins at Dalin Railway Station and winds through local landmarks such as traditional pastry shops, an old hotel, and the historic Wanguo Theater.
Currently, the tours are completely free and require no advance registration. Mr. Jiang hopes this will lower the barrier to participation, encouraging more people to step into Dalin and connect with its stories.
