【How Can Technology Help Save Countless Lives? See Guatemala’s Disaster Preparedness in Action! 】 

Today is Earth Day—have you ever thought about this? As extreme weather events become more and more frequent, a single hurricane could leave over 400,000 people without homes or livelihoods? Natural disasters are a recurring threat every year for our Central American ally, Guatemala, but Taiwan’s strengths in technology are making a difference there! 🇹🇼 This video shows how Taiwan is using innovation to protect lives. Through the Early Warning and Disaster Management System Project—jointly implemented by the TaiwanICDF and the Government of Guatemala—residents in the flood-prone Cahabón River Basin are better protected. Covering 2,500 square kilometers, the region now has over 30% more response time to prepare for emergencies.
