U.S. Space Force Emphasizes Stable Cooperation with European Allies

On April 9, 2025, during the Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado, U.S. Space Force Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman stated that despite recent changes in U.S.-Europe diplomatic relations, military cooperation between the Space Force and European allies remains steady. 

Continued Military Collaboration

Gen. Saltzman noted that daily interactions between the Space Force and European partners have not been affected by recent political developments. He emphasized that both sides continue to discuss and address existing challenges and advance collaborative projects. 

Upcoming International Partnership Strategy

The Space Force plans to release a new international partnership strategy in the coming weeks aimed at strengthening collaboration with allies. The strategy’s primary goals include leveraging each nation’s unique expertise, improving information sharing and interoperability, and integrating across the full spectrum of operations—from force design to capability employment.

Air Marshal Paul Godfrey, the Space Force’s Assistant Chief of Space Operations for Future Concepts and Partnerships, highlighted the importance of the Space Force’s support to allied nations developing military space capabilities. He pointed out that if the U.S. were to cut ties with these countries, they might incur significant costs and potentially pursue misguided paths in developing such capabilities.
