Recycled materials create garden paradise

Too often the old windows and doors from refurbishment and rebuilding projects are simply discarded by the roadside or end up in the recycling depot, but are these things really valueless? Fortunately, one store situated beside Tainan’s Xinwu Intersection has used reight containers to build their horticultural landscape design store.

The boss, who has been in the landscape design business for 16 years, has traveled far and wide collecting a wide selection of discarded items,including railway sleepers, wooden doors and windows, and wooden floorboards. In addition to a lick of paint here and there, he has utilized his ingenuity and creative talent to turn railway sleepers into windowsills, and wooden doors into arty partition walls, giving the freight containers a whole new fresh and exciting look.

The owner has felt a deep connection with nature ever since he was a young boy, and so after growing up and becoming the boss of a landscaping company it seemed natural to bring the environmental element into his design concepts. In his eyes, the various bits and pieces discarded by other people are all wonderful design materials. In an age when calls to protect the planet and cherish our natural resources abound, the proprietor of this gardening store is a wonderful example of how using creativity and recycling can really make a
difference, which is something we can all learn from.

廢棄物的新天堂~幫廢棄物找到第二春的園藝店

陳年老舊的裝潢要汰換，數十年舊屋改建或翻修，那些舊木門木窗，舊素料材往往不是被棄置路旁就是被送到資源回收場，但是這些的東西真的都沒有利用價值了嗎?位在台南新屋交流道旁，有一個利用貨櫃屋建造而成的園藝景觀設計店。

從事園藝設計16年的老闆，到處去撿別人淘汰的枕木、木門、木窗、舊木板等，利用創意巧思，將回收的枕木變窗台，破損的木門整修成隔牆，車斗漆上顏色變成藝術牆，貨櫃屋成為煥然一新的明亮花園。

自小就與大自然為伍，長大後從事園藝工作的老闆，將自然環保議題帶入設計理念之中，人家棄置不要的廢棄物，在他的眼中都是的設計
的好材質。環保愛地球，珍惜自然資源的呼聲不斷，園藝店老闆身體力行發揮創意，資源回收再利用，值得大家學習。
