In Hsinchu, a unique cat café is turning heads with its ingenious design. Featuring a transparent
overhead skywalk, the café allows patrons to look up and admire the adorable sight of cats leisurely
strolling above. To balance customer experience with feline welfare, the space is meticulously split
into two zones: a dedicated dining area and a separate cat lounge. This multi-level architectural
design effectively addresses hygiene concerns and ensures pet safety, while simultaneously creating
a comfortable buffer zone for customers who prefer to dine without being in direct contact with the
animals.

The visionary behind this space is the shop’s owner, Ms. Tsai, whose journey into cat rescue began
following a chance encounter 15 years ago. Realising that deep-seated misunderstandings often exist
between humans and cats, Tsai believed that establishing a highly transparent physical space—alongside
a dedicated rescue association—could dispel these misconceptions and foster mutual trust. Today,
the resident felines are primarily rescued strays, abandoned pets, or retired cats from ethical catteries,
with each animal undergoing a comprehensive health assessment and a thorough adoption evaluation
before meeting the public.

Today, Tsai’s mission has already yielded remarkable results. Over the past two years alone, the café
has successfully rehomed 300 cats. To guarantee the ongoing well-being of their rescues, the team
has implemented a rigorous screening and follow-up procedure, ensuring every adopted cat is placed
in a safe environment and handled with utmost care.

Despite facing exorbitant medical bills and 24-hours pressure of providing care, Tsai still tend to look
after all these stary animal. It is because to her, nothing is more rewarding than seeing these adopted
cats living healthy, happy lives.
