To help more individuals with spinal cord injuries improve their health and regain confidence through exercise, the Spinal Cord Injury Association partnered with the Taoyuan City Sports Bureau to launch “Bowstring Arrows,” an adaptive fitness program at Shuanglianpo Archery Range. The sessions are guided by professional coaches, including Paralympic archers, offering both expertise and inspiration to participants.

Training starts from the basics, with coaches not only teaching technique but also sharing their personal stories, offering vital emotional support. Initially, many participants struggle just to draw a bow, but through steady practice, they learn to hit targets and even compete in friendly matches. The gains go beyond physical—there’s a deep sense of pride and achievement.

“Bowstring Arrows” is all about breaking boundaries. Through adaptive archery, people with disabilities are finding new ways to draw out their strength and aim for a future filled with confidence and hope.
