Tucked away near the bustling Dongmen MRT Station in Taipei, Eco Book Café is a small independent bookstore built on eco-conscious ideals. In this compact 33-square-meter space, the shopkeeper—known as “Owl”—has quietly made her nest for over a decade, putting sustainable practices into action through everyday operations.

From the start, the store’s interior was designed with sustainability in mind, applying passive energy-saving principles. Its calm, nature-inspired aesthetic reflects a commitment to green architecture, while the space also functions as a hub for community events. Thanks to the shopkeeper’s many efforts—hosting book clubs, book launches, and DIY workshops—Eco Book Café has become a space for dialogue and discovery. Visitors are invited to see the world through new lenses, while the bookstore itself continues to evolve, finding renewed meaning and vitality in its mission.
