In April 2025, PeoPo Try Shoot+ visited Minxiong, Chiayi, where a group of passionate local youths guided us through the town’s streets, tracing over a century of change. Since the launch of the Minxiong Studies program in 2018, more and more residents have joined efforts to preserve local culture and participate in civic initiatives.

In 2022, locals from all walks of life came together to form the Da Mao Neighborhood Cultural Association, a grassroots force dedicated to civic engagement, cultural preservation, and community building. Their work is breathing fresh energy into Minxiong’s future.

By rallying the power of local residents, the association has gradually shaped a distinctive local knowledge and capacity for action. Through their efforts, they bring Minxiong’s story to life—helping people rediscover the land’s value and envision its endless possibilities.

重新看見民雄 打貓街坊的深耕與實踐

2025年4月份的PeoPo Try拍+來到了嘉義民雄，由一群關心地方的青年帶我們走入民雄街區，尋訪民雄百年來的變遷。 自2018年起 隨著「民雄學」課程的開辦，越來越多在地鄉民投入文化保存與公共行動，2022年來自各行各業的鄉民共同成立了「打貓街坊文化協會」，推動地方的公民參與、文化保存與社區營造，為民雄注入更多元而深耕的發展能量。

協會結合在地居民的力量，逐步累積出屬於民雄的地方學與行動力。他們以實際行動述說民雄的故事，讓更多人重新看見這片土地的價值，也看見它未來的無限可能。
