A convergence of art and culture – Community building through space sharing

Jingmei’s morning and night markets always attract crowds of people, but the other end of the street, which used to be a bustling ferry crossing and was considered the economic and cultural center of Jingmei River, is surprisingly quiet today. Without the railroad and boats, the landscape of Jingmei Street has radically changed, and the formerly quieter end where the MRT is now located is the busiest spot on the street today.

Using art and culture to reach out to the community through workshops, courses, and various activities helps bring together a wide cross-section of people and professions, creating the possibility of change in communities. At present, though the community- sharing project is still in its infancy and mainly attracts people through various activities, it is working hard to spread the message.

景美不論早市晚市，總是聚集一堆人群，但一來到上街聲音頓時變得安靜，景美街過去以景美河流為其經濟與文化中心，尤其是上街更是當時渡口的經濟重鎮。如今，沒有鐵路與船隻，景美街頭尾的風景也改變了，靠近捷運的下街成為最熱鬧的場所。

利用藝文的方式接觸社區，舉辦工作坊、課程以及藝文活動，當不同的人聚集在一起，結合不同專業，便能創造改變社區的可能性。目前共享社區仍停留在前置作業，主要透過各項活動吸引人群，除此之外，向地方宣傳的訊息也得持續努力。
