嘉義縣朴子市的祥和國小，是一個海洋資源教育中心，在校方的大力支持，以及吳基創先生的捐贈下，創立了一座貝殼教育館，裡頭收藏了七百多種貝殼，同時也成立貝殼研究社團，希望藉由貝殼教育，能夠讓小朋友們對海洋有更多的認識與瞭解。
