Mother’s Day for Grandma

The Zhuqi Branch of Huashan Social Welfare Foundation (華山基金會) was established in 2011. This year, with the assistance of Zhuqi High School students, the foundation aimed to help elderly women living alone in the area to celebrate Mother’s Day. At the beginning of April students began hand-folding carnations, and at the start of May delivered this gift of affection and warm sentiments to the homes of 26 elderly women living alone in the district; the women were all left speechless on receiving the carnations from the students.

Teacher at Zhuqi High School, Lin Sheng-Liang (林聖樑) expressed the hope that the students’ intention to make hand-folded carnations would help deliver warmth to the hearts of elderly women living in the local community.

阿嬤的母親節

華山基金會嘉義竹崎站從民國100年開始，為當地獨居的長者媽媽們過母親節，今年在竹崎高中紫錐花社的協助下，高中同學們從4月底開始手摺康乃馨，5月初把這份愛與關懷，送到26位獨居奶奶的家中。收到同學們手作的康乃馨，阿嬤們高興地說不出話，而竹崎高中教官林聖樑也表示，希望同學們的心意，透過一朵朵的康乃馨，讓阿嬤們感受到溫暖。
