The 25th edition of inter airport Europe 2025 opened on October 7 at Messe Munich, marking a milestone in the global airport industry. With over 400 exhibitors and participants from more than 100 countries, the show spotlighted Artificial Intelligence (AI), data management, and workforce innovation—signaling the aviation sector’s ongoing shift toward digital transformation and sustainability.
As one returning exhibitor remarked, “We were here two years ago, and the contacts we made in 2023 are now our customers.”

越南Long Thanh國際機場領航東南亞新世代樞紐

越南機場公司（Airports Corporation of Vietnam, ACV）代表 Huyen Dieu Do 在開幕研討會中指出，位於胡志明市東方40公里的 隆城國際機場（Long Thanh Airport） 預定於2026年啟用。
該機場第一期工程包含一條4公里跑道與一座373,000平方公尺的航廈，造型取自越南國花「蓮花」，完工後可年處理2,500萬旅客。最終四期完工後，年運量將達1億人次，成為ACV營運的22座機場中最大的一座。

Representing the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), Senior Specialist Huyen Dieu Do revealed that the country’s new Long Thanh International Airport, located 40 km east of Ho Chi Minh City, is on track to open in 2026.
Phase one includes a 4-kilometer runway and a 373,000-square-meter terminal inspired by the lotus flower. Once completed, it will handle 25 million passengers annually, and eventually up to 100 million across four development phases—making it ACV’s largest and most advanced airport.

Artificial Intelligence took center stage this year as ADB SAFEGATE unveiled its next-generation platform, AI: Airside Intelligence, designed to enhance operational efficiency through data-driven insights.
Chief Technology Officer Thorben Burghardt emphasized, “AI enables airports to shift toward predictive maintenance and remote monitoring, cutting downtime and workforce requirements. Even smaller airports will benefit from smarter, more proactive operations.”

Burghardt added, “Every stakeholder—from airlines to ground handlers—still operates in data silos. If we can enable open data exchange, efficiency will skyrocket. It may sound utopian, but transparency and collaboration would bring tremendous value.”
Industry experts echoed this sentiment during a “Big Data Collaboration” panel, agreeing that AI remains in its infancy—comparable to how cloud technology was a decade ago.

AI公司 CogniMind 技術長 Dr. Joe Perez 提醒：「若輸入資料品質低，AI的結果只會放大錯誤。垃圾資料輸入，只會產生更糟的垃圾結果。」

Meanwhile, Tony Chapman, founder of AJC Aviation, predicted that the next five years will bring a revolution in automation and predictive technologies—making sustainability no longer optional but essential.

🛩️ 無人機入侵議題升溫：RIX機場的警示

拉脫維亞 RIX Riga Airport 主席 Laila Odina 提到，平均每天可遇到三起無人機入侵事件（Drone Incursions）。
她指出：「多數是業餘使用者，但我們必須嚴肅看待每一起事件。目前最大問題是，究竟誰負責監控與管制，仍缺乏明確共識。」

Laila Odina, Chairperson of RIX Riga Airport, highlighted that the airport experiences up to three drone incursions per day.
“Most are caused by amateur operators, but every incident must be treated seriously,” she said. “The real issue is unclear responsibility—who exactly oversees drone monitoring and control around airports?”
Her remarks underscored the growing global challenge of low-altitude airspace security.
