【TaiwanICDF Project Brings Taiwan-style Barrel Roasted Chicken to Palau】
Through the Poultry and Livestock Project the TaiwanICDF has brought barrel roasted chicken to Palau using black-feathered chickens – a breed indigenous to Taiwan. The project team has put together a fun and engaging video demonstrating how to prepare the dish, which is popular with diners in Taiwan, at home. Known for its crispy, golden-brown skin, tender and juicy meat, and unique and delightful smoky aroma, the dish is a favorite at Taiwan’s rechao restaurants. Fans of Taiwanese food are encouraged to watch the video and level up their cooking skills!
The dish can be made with any species of chicken, but black-feathered chickens are recommended for their firm yet tender texture, rich flavor, and balanced fat content, the team says. Feeling adventurous? Add taro or potatoes, toss in baby corn, carrots, bamboo shoots, or even broccoli to jazz up the dish. Say goodbye to boring chicken and make it a colorful, tasty meal.
