Protecting the pristine beach of one’s hometown

On the beach near the famous Pingtung “Vase Rock (花瓶岩)” landmark on Little Liuqiu, the lone figure of Huang Cai-rou (黃綵柔) can often be seen picking up garbage. Miss Huang was born on Little Liuqiu, but her family moved to Kaohsiung in search of work when she was just a child. She often felt homesick and longed to return to her hometown, but when she finally starting visiting Little Liuqiu some years later, she was saddened to discover that the crowds of tourists would leave behind a large amount of litter.

With the aim of ensuring that the beach in her beloved hometown remains as pristine and beautiful as it was in her youth, Huang Cai-rou began making weekly round trips from Kaosiung to clean up the beaches.

在屏東縣小琉球的著名地標「花瓶岩」海邊，有一位女士黃綵柔，正在隻身撿拾著垃圾。她的故鄉就是小琉球，但是小時候因父母必須工作，所以舉家遷往高雄市，之後，她基於對家鄉的情懷，開始多次回小琉球，卻發現觀光的人潮帶來許多的垃圾量，所以她開始貢獻自己的力量，每周都從高雄往返小琉球淨灘，為的是希望家鄉永遠美麗。
