As drone threats become increasingly prevalent, the U.S. military is adapting its strategies by transforming the MQ-1C "Gray Eagle" UAV—traditionally used for ground target strikes—into a potent airborne counter-drone platform.

根據《The War Zone》18日的報導，美國通用原子航太系統公司（GA-ASI）成功使用搭載AGM-114L「長弓地獄火」（Longbow Hellfire）飛彈的MQ-1C，在實彈測試中擊落一架小型無人機，展現出全新的反無人機作戰概念。

According to The War Zone, GA-ASI conducted a successful live-fire test in which the MQ-1C, armed with an AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire missile, took down a small drone—showcasing a breakthrough concept in drone-on-drone warfare.

報導指出，這枚具備毫米波雷達導引的地獄火飛彈，原本設計用於反坦克作戰，如今卻成為精準打擊低空小型無人機的新利器。若再結合GA-ASI旗下的「鷹眼」（EagleEye）與Lynx雷達系統，將進一步提升搜尋、追蹤低空目標的能力。

Originally designed for anti-armor missions, the radar-guided Longbow Hellfire missile is now proving highly effective against low-flying drones. When paired with GA-ASI's EagleEye and Lynx radar systems—typically used for ground and maritime target detection—the MQ-1C can significantly extend its surveillance and targeting capabilities against airborne threats.

MQ-1C的高空飛行優勢，讓這些雷達能「低中高一網打盡」，不只盯住地面，也能捕捉到海上與低空的無人機動態，全面擴展戰場感知能力。

Thanks to the MQ-1C's elevated flight profile, these sensors gain an expanded field of view—capable of detecting ground, maritime, and low-altitude aerial threats in a single mission, dramatically enhancing battlefield awareness.

除此之外，GA-ASI也正測試讓MQ-1C掛載由Dillon Aero製造的DAP-6機砲莢艙，甚至計畫加入雷射導引火箭或導能武器（DEW），目標是將這架無人機打造為能執行「戰鬥空中巡邏」（CAP）任務的多功能平台。

GA-ASI has also tested the MQ-1C with Dillon Aero's DAP-6 gun pod and is exploring the integration of laser-guided rockets and even Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs). The ultimate goal? Transforming the Gray Eagle into a versatile aerial asset capable of performing combat air patrols (CAP).

MQ-1C擁有長時間滯空與改良後的短場起降（STOL）能力，意味著它能在前線更接近威脅的地點起降、巡弋。這樣的特性讓它不僅是監視工具，更是一把可隨時出鞘的「空中匕首」。
